What is in My Royal Wipes? The six ingredients explained

The lotion in MyRoyalWipes is 99% water. This is confirmed in the official safety assessment (CPSR). The remaining 1% consists of five ingredients combined: gluconolactone, sodium benzoate, aloe vera juice, calcium gluconate and apple extract. The wipe itself is made from 100% viscose.
MyRoyalKids (My Royal Kids), formerly MyRoyalBaby, publishes the full list on its ingredients page, Along with additional product information. We explain what each ingredient is and why it is in My Royal Wipes.
1. Aqua (water)
Water is the base and makes up 99% of the lotion. It does the actual cleaning and makes the wipe pleasantly moist.
2. Gluconolactone
An ingredient related to glucose, a simple sugar. It helps the skin retain moisture, leaving it feeling soft and comfortable. It also works with sodium benzoate to keep the lotion fresh.
3. Sodium benzoate
Keeps the lotion in the pack fresh, so bacteria, yeasts and moulds have no chance to grow. You may know it as E211, the preservative also used in food and drinks. You can read more about it in our article on preservation.
4. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
Juice from the leaves of the aloe vera plant. Aloe vera is known for its soothing and moisturising properties.
5. Calcium gluconate
A calcium salt related to glucose. It supports the formula and keeps it stable and balanced.
6. Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract
An extract from apples. It cares for the skin and makes each clean-up a little gentler.
A short, carefully chosen and tested ingredient list
Six ingredients, each with a clear role. The formula has been assessed by a qualified EU safety assessor. Both the XXL and Travel wipes received an “Excellent” rating from Dermatest for skin compatibility. My Royal Baby packs still on shop shelves have the same formula.
